I’ve been an event professional for over 20 years, and in that time, I’ve often had to explain that there is a wrong way to plan events. Success requires creativity, strategy, adaptability, and deep industry knowledge. Even after earning my PhD, I still encounter the same dismissive reactions—from “That must be fun” to “You can get a degree in that?” This blog is my response: a space to explore the complexity, value, and excitement of the events industry.
